Dear Roberts Middle School and Leaman Junior High School Parents and Community,

We are excited to share an important update with you regarding our parent-teacher organization. After thoughtful consideration, we will be transitioning from Friends of Leaman PTO to the newly established Chargers Booster Club- Roberts Middle School and Leaman Junior High.

We are incredibly enthusiastic about this new chapter and the opportunities it will bring to both schools. While the PTO model has served us well, it is often more aligned with elementary school communities. At the middle school and junior high level, we found that we were not seeing the level of parent involvement needed to fully support all of the events and experiences we envision for our students, teachers, and staff.

Our new Chargers Booster Club- Roberts Middle School and Leaman Junior High is designed to be a more engaging, energetic, and sustainable organization, one that we hope will inspire increased participation, fresh ideas, entertainment for your students, and stronger community connection. We also believe this is a more natural and mature progression for our students, as booster clubs are the standard at the high school level. This transition helps bridge that gap and prepares our families for continued involvement as students grow and move into high school.

We want to reassure you that our commitment to supporting both schools remains stronger than ever. We will continue to host many of the events our students love, including movie nights, school dances, Valentine's Grams, Candy Cane Grams, teacher appreciation breakfasts and lunches, and more— all of which will be now be organized through your Chargers Booster Club- Roberts Middle School and Leaman Junior High.

To make these events and initiatives possible, we are asking families to support the Chargers Booster Club- Roberts Middle School and Leaman Junior High with a $20 annual membership donation. These contributions will directly fund your student’s events and will hopefully create lasting memories for them while also providing meaningful support for our teachers and staff across both campuses.

We are truly excited about the future of the Chargers Booster Club- Roberts Middle School and Leaman Junior High and invite you to join us in building something special for our school community. Your involvement, ideas, and support will make all the difference for your children and their teachers.

Additionally, as part of this transition, the remaining balance of Friends of Leaman PTO funds will be transferred as a one-time donation to help launch and support the Chargers Booster Club- Roberts Middle School and Leaman Junior High School.
